8:00AM - Start the day refreshed with a walk along the Hike and Bike Trail. Wind your way through beautiful lakeside parks and take in the amazing scenery.
9:30AM - Did you know that Buena Vista County is home to a large number of bald eagles? You might see one soaring over the lake as you check out the Watchable Wildlife. Maybe you're looking for a different sort of birdie. Try one of Storm Lake's challenging golf courses.
12:00PM - Storm Lake is known for its eateries. No matter what you're craving, one of the exquisite restaurants will definitely cater to even the most discriminating palate.
1:00PM - You won't believe how much history is contained in the Living History Tree Museum. Wander through it and see a decendant of the cherry tree infamously chopped down by a young George Washington.
2:00PM - The city is home to a number if unique sculptures carved out of real trees. See if you can find them all.
4:00PM - It's not too late to relax on the water. Rent a kayak or pontoon. Try to catch your supper.
6:00PM - Sometimes the fish don't bite. Eat dinner at one of thirty restaurants in Storm Lake.
7:00PM - Pitch your tent at the Sunrise Park Campground or the Lakeside Campground. Don't worry if you forget something. You can pick up whatever you may need in one of Storm Lake's many retail stores. (Don't feel like roughing it? Rent a cabin right on the shores of Storm Lake.)
The Beauty of Buena Vista County
8:00AM - Grab a good breakfast at one of Storm Lake's many restaurants. You'll need plenty of energy to see the amazing sights in hidden all around Buena Vista County.
9:00AM - Stop by the Storm Lake United office and pick up the CD and map that will guide you along the BV County Drive Trail - a planned, narrated route guiding visitors to treasures even people who live here don't know about. Scenery, wildlife and history abound on this unique excursion.
12:00PM - Time to refuel for the rest of the day. You'll be ready for a bite after the first leg of the BV Country Drive. Why not try one of the many local cafes? There's nothing better than homemade pie!
1:00PM - It's time to hit the road and finish exploring the scenic, peaceful corner of Iowa that's quickly becoming one of the Midwest's top vacation destinations.
5:00PM - Arrive back in Storm Lake, still talking about all of the hidden treasures you discovered on your trip through Buena Vista County.
6:00PM - Check into your hotel and get yourself ready to sample all the best Storm Lake has to offer!
9:00AM - Ring up room service for breakfast in bed. Enjoy the start of your day as you take in the beautiful vistas from your lakeside room. No need to rush...this is your day.
10:00AM - Enjoy a romantic stroll on the Hike and Bike trail. If you feel like completely relaxing, try a Pedicab ride around Storm Lake.
11:00AM - Head off for a little shopping in downtown Storm Lake. Why not pick up the ingredients for a romantic picnic? We have sunny spots on the beach or quiet, shady spots in the park - perfect locales to spread out that red-checkered blanket.
1:00PM - There's nothing more romantic than a day at the beach with that special someone. Lie back, read a good book and catch some rays. Remember...bring the sunscreen!
5:00PM - It's time for teamwork! Rent a bicycle for two and tour the town.
7:00PM - Slide up to your table for two and taste some of the best cuisine around. After dinner, take in a movie or dance to some live music at the Regatta Grill. The rest of the night is up to you!

8:30AM - Arrive in Storm Lake. Enjoy a lakeside breakfast at the Regatta Grill, a hearty starter at one of our
local cafes or a specialty coffee drink at one of the city's coffee shops.
10:00AM - Tour Storm Lake's historic Harker House. Built in 1875, this impressive Victorian house is
meticulously preserved with the Harker family's furnishings and photographs. One of the city's grandest
homes, it still impresses visitors to this day.
11:00AM - Stroll through history...literally. The Living History Tree Museum, located on the shores of the lake
in Sunset Park, the museum contains living descendants of trees that witnessed amazing historical
moments. See a seedling of the tree flown over by the Wright Brothers on their maiden flight!
12:00PM - Enjoy a catered lunch at Lake Avenue Lounge - the former Masonic Temple redesigned into a
lounge and banquet facility.
1:00PM - Explore downtown Storm Lake - a busy shopping center filled with unique shops and boutiques.
1:00PM - Visit the BV County Historical Society Museum and step back in time. The Pioneer Main Street, a two-
story log house and a restored one-room school provide a window into the city's past.
2:00PM - Buena Vista University has been an important part of Storm Lake's history. Tour one of the
Midwest's top universities and see how classrooms have changed. Explore the newly constructed Science
Center with an impressive collection of preserved wildlife.
3:00PM - Time for coffee! Relax and unwind at one of Storm Lake's cafes or coffee shops.
4:00PM - Storm Lake is home to one of the largest collections of animated Christmas displays in the country.
Enjoy a private tour of Santa's Castle and discover why everyone's a kid at Christmas.
5:30PM - Many fine restaurants dot the streets of Storm Lake. Enjoy traditional steakhouses, casual pubs or,
